Please help us to give Hope and Compassion to those who need it.
LCP is a non funded, not-for profit, voluntary group, giving hope, hands-on practical and emotional support, providing much needed provisions to homeless, vulnerable and anyone in need across the Black country and the surrounding areas.
Vi has vowed to help those in need following her own experiences when her Family were at risk of losing their own home. Vi wanted to give something back to the community, so she set up a group, on the 24th of August 2016, in loving tribute to her late husband Leslie. She is very passionate, and dedicates all her time to help others. Vi also works alongside other organisations and registered charities.
Vi relies solely on the kindness and generosity of the general public, and businesses for donations, such as Food Items, Toiletries, Sleeping Bags, Underwear, Socks, Rucksacks, and any other essentials. These are all vital to the continuing success of Leslie's Care Packages.
All donations are taken direct to where they are needed.
What a few of their Supporters say:
"Help that is given by Leslie's Care Packages is direct and fast and so valuable. No middle man, no delays, no forms to fill out, no waiting lists.
"Such a great person doing this in memory of her dearly departed husband, you are an inspiration to us all.
"Vi Wood and the work she does for the homeless is indispensable. She's truly taken the time to help the homeless without so much as a second thought for herself. This is a great cause, run by a lovely woman with a big heart.
"Fantastic charity run by a truly selfless woman who does her upmost to help the homeless. Vi is always friendly and welcoming, she has a true passion for helping people.
"this lady has recently helped someone very close to me who was desperate for everything after being rehomed after a very difficult time they was overwhelmed by her kindness and concern and said they didn't realise such people existed.
Together we can make a Difference
We are all only one life event away from homelessness. We all know our health is our top priority- but after that is our housing. Because without adequate housing - our health suffers.
The Homeless are of all ages, and from all walks of life, from failed marriages, loss of jobs, loss of family members, people being abused, and with mental health issues.
Homelessness isn't just suffered by rough sleepers.
The "hidden homeless" are those living in unsuitable, temporary or crowded accommodation. Homelessness is devastating, leaving people vulnerable, low self-esteem and isolated and everyone deserves a place to call home.
Nobody should have to endure homelessness. Much change is needed to ensure that decent, safe housing is available for all. In reality, anyone could find themselves without a home.
Leslie's Care Packages are always in need of Volunteers. We have lots to do, but especially needed are delivery/pick-up drivers, people to support events and anyone who can help store goods.
